Borussia Dortmund is still looking for a replacement for Jude Bellingham (20). According to media reports, the runner-up is said to be interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Marcel Sabitzer (29). BVB sports director Sebastian Kehl does not want to confirm or deny this. “If I think about what has been reported in the last few days and weeks, how many players have already signed with us, then I would simply ask that I neither have to comment nor give any status to any talks,” he said on the sidelines of a test match at RW Erfurt on the TV channel “Sky”.

According to information from “Bild”, Dortmund wants to convince Sabitzer of a change within the Bundesliga. The fee requested by the record champions is 15 million euros. For the 29-year-old, who has long been associated with a departure in Munich, the competition has intensified further with the signing of Konrad Laimer (RB Leipzig) in midfield. Sabitzer had already left Bavaria temporarily in the second half of the previous season and was loaned to Manchester United. The national player is still under contract with FC Bayern until 2025 and, if the worst comes to the worst, would be the 15th transfer between BVB and the record champions. Most recently, the Revierklub took Niklas Süle (27) from FCB on a free transfer a year ago.

Recently there have also been loose rumors that national player Leon Goretzka (28) could switch from Bayern to BVB. The ex-Schalke player doesn’t really want to leave the club, but coach Thomas Tuchel hadn’t ruled out leaving by the beginning of September. The Munich “Evening News“reported on Sunday that the “Red Devils” had made a specific request two years ago, but not so far this summer.
So far, Dortmund has only presented Ramy Bensebaini (28; Borussia Mönchengladbach) and Felix Nmecha (22; VfL Wolfsburg) as newcomers, but is aiming for further transfers. “We will think about how we can improve further. We’ve been in good talks for quite some time,” said Kehl. But he doesn’t want to rush anything: “The transfer window is still open for a very, very long time. So just be patient.”
