The organization has launched a donation campaign to raise funds for the NGO, which is already active on its website.
The event, which will be held on September 30, will have five tests: 6 km, 4 km, 2 km, 4×200 relay and Kids.
On Saturday, September 30, the city of Barcelona will host a new MARNATON journey, which on this occasion will have a special solidarity component. The test, which will have the NGO Open Arms as its main protagonist, will hold various activities with the aim of raising funds for the entity dedicated to humanitarian rescue work at sea, among other projects.
“Protecting lives in danger has been the mission of Open Arms since the beginning, when swimming and with no more equipment than our experience as lifeguards, we began to rescue people on the Greek island of Lesbos& rdquor; has affirmed Oscar Camps. The founder of the NGO added that “for this reason, we are very happy to unite synergies with MARNATON, an event with which we share values such as sportsmanship and respect for the maritime environment. An event that will be a speaker of our humanitarian work at sea and to which we contribute our experience through a workshop for all the participating people with the aim of offering them tools so that they know how to react at sea in case of emergency.”
The activities
Apart from holding the 6 km, 4 km, 2 km, 4×200 relay and Kids events, MARNATON and Open Arms will organize a lifesaving and first aid workshop on the Friday before the competition, in which professionals from the organization will teach notions basics of how to react at sea in an emergency. Registration for this workshop will go entirely to the NGO. On the other hand, MARNATON will also offer a yoga class to swimmers and companions, whose participation will be linked to a minimum donation, which will also go to Open Arms.
Finally, the NGO, founded by Oscar Camps, will have a stand in the MARNATON village in Barcelona where anyone who wants to can learn a little more about the work they do, as well as purchase merchandising, make a one-off donation, or sign up as a partner.

The next tests
The MARNATON calendar practically comes to an end with the Barcelona test. After Barcelona, the Marnaton eDreams Cup will close the season in the Balearic Islands by celebrating the second edition of the Marnaton eDreams Ibiza by Baleària on October 14, registration for which is available on the page Web of the organization.
