Laporta is considered a fan
After a moderately successful six-month loan to Chelsea, attacking player João Félix is once again pushing his exit from Atlético – to the club that once made his €127.2m move to Madrid possible. FC Barcelona “was always my first choice and I would love to play for Barça,” the 23-year-old Portuguese told Fabrizio Romano. “It’s always been my dream since I was a kid. If it happens it will be a dream come true for me.”

Atlético signed João Félix in 2019 after Antoine Griezmann (32), who was back for the “Colchoneros” today, moved to Barcelona for 120 million euros. They were the ninth and tenth transfers in football history, with a transfer fee of at least 100 million euros. Barça President Joan Laporta has been a fan of the technically strong attacker for years.

Given his contract length until 2027, it does not seem unlikely that Atlético will demand a corresponding fee today, which would make a move to the Catalans difficult. At least several players would have to be sold beforehand. On the other hand, the market value of the 31-time national player has halved since January 2021 to currently 50 million euros and, according to the statements, remaining at Atlético including playing time is more unlikely than ever.
joao felix doesn’t just throw out such a banging statement. that is a clear strategy. also becomes quite clear due to the fact that he made these statements to fabrizio romano and not casually in any normal interview.
– joao felix really wants to go, simeone doesn’t want him.
– laporta is a fan of joao felix. xavi likes him too.
– Barca were already interested last year.
– Barca are looking for another creative, prolific player…
Atlético finds João Félix’s statements about FC Barcelona disrespectful
In the Spanish media landscape, João Félix’ statements quickly caused a corresponding response – Atlético fans reacted with displeasure both on social networks and in the Transfermarkt forum. “Oh wei João.. you should have gambled away everything even with your most loyal Atléti supporters,” said “ForzaAtleti88”. AtleticoFan10 wrote: “I don’t want to see him in our jersey again. After these disrespectful words, he should rather be sitting in the stands than ever stepping onto a square centimeter of the Metropolitano lawn.”
Atlético itself also felt the statements of a report by “Relevo‘ as very disrespectful and unprofessional. They would be evaluated as a strategy to force a transfer – they had not been agreed. A statement to the portal said: “The player’s agent knows the conditions that must be met for João to leave the club. Therefore, we have nothing to say on this subject.”
Oh wow Joao.. you should have gambled away everything with your most loyal Atleti supporters.
I’m so fed up with this Joao topic anyway and it just brings massive unrest into the (meanwhile) stable environment. I have no idea what Cerezo and Gil are up to, but whatever it is, I hope it ends with a final breakup with joao, preferably this summer. I highly doubt it, however, as its “value” to our board is too high for anyone to pay that sum…
