FC Bayern has found a new sporting director. Consistent media reports from, among others, “sky” and “PictureAccording to Red Bull Salzburg’s Christoph Freund, he will start with the German record champions on September 1 after the end of the transfer phase. Accordingly, the 46-year-old has signed a contract.
Freund has held the same position at the “Red Bulls” since 2015 and, as a look at the TM database shows, only two clubs worldwide have achieved a better transfer balance than the Austrian series champions during this period. At Salzburg there is an increase of almost 400 million euros, including the sale of Dominik Szoboszlai, Karim Adeyemi and Naby Keïta to the Bundesliga, which resulted in high income. Freund replaced Ralf Rangnick, previously he was team manager from 2006 and sports coordinator from 2012.
