Now it’s fixed: central defender Rick van Drongelen is moving from Union Berlin to Turkey. The 24-year-old, who was last released to look for a new club with the “Iron”, signed on Tuesday evening with the Süper-Lig promoted Samsunspor, as the capital city announced.
Loud “Gazete Gercek” the former HSV professional receives a three-year contract. The Dutchman moved from Hamburg to Berlin in 2021 for 500,000 euros, but was never able to assert himself at Union. “Rick developed well last year, fought his way through and performed well in Rostock. Also because of our current squad composition, we decided together with Rick that it would be good for him to go down a different path. Van Drongelen added: “Even if I wasn’t able to show myself as planned here at Union, I will have fond memories of the time and the people.
