RB Leipzig’s Spanish winger Angeliño has reportedly agreed a move with Turkish champions Galatasaray. According to reports from Turkey, the two clubs also agreed on the framework conditions for a loan deal. Implementation is expected shortly, the 26-year-old left-back was loaned to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga last season.
The Kraichgauers then decided not to continue signing Angeliño on the terms offered. A transfer fee of 20 million euros would have been due for the former Spain U21 international. Angeliño then initially returned to the DFB Cup winners in Leipzig, where his contract runs until 2025.
Leipzig’s Angeliño deal with Galatasaray: Eight million total volume
He made 33 Bundesliga appearances for Hoffenheim last season and set up ten goals in the process. Angeliño’s market value had fallen by more than half in the past year. After the previous loan player Kaan Ayhan, the left foot could become the second summer transfer on the access side at the Süper Lig club and be the fifth professional to leave Saxony for the 2023/24 season.
The deal with Galatasaray includes a one-time rental fee of 2 million euros, as well as a purchase option that automatically becomes a purchase obligation once the player reaches a certain number of wagers. In that case, another six million euros would flow from the Bosporus to Saxony.
