In a meeting in Zaragoza, the Sumar candidate thus responded to the point of the PSOE program that proposes the development of new modalities of partial and active retirement

The Sumar candidate for the Presidency of the Government, Yolanda Díaz, has made it clear this Friday that “will not allow” any type of delay in the legal retirement ageregardless of the profession, and has indicated: “It is about us living much better”.

In a meeting in Zaragoza, Díaz thus responded to the point of the PSOE program that proposes the development of new modalities of partial and active retirement, with the aim of dar “more flexibility and better opportunities in a progressive and voluntary exit from the labor market” and to promote “complementarity” between the work of the elderly and the young.

The second vice president of the Government has also called for “sustaining the public pensions of our country with dignity” instead of “extend the retirement age”.

This issue also came up for debate after the Círculo de Empresarios proposed raising the retirement age with a voluntary scheme between 68 and 72 yearswhere each affiliate decides and plans their retirement, although the pension will be higher the longer the exit from the labor market is delayed.
