Argentinian soccer world champion Ángel Di María is moving from Juventus to Benfica Lisbon on a free transfer. This was announced by Benfica.
The 35-year-old returns to the Portuguese champions with coach Roger Schmidt after 13 years. Di María previously played for Benfica from 2007 to 2010. Juve had not extended the offensive player’s expiring contract.
According to the media, Di María should receive a one-year contract until June 30, 2024, this Thursday he should be presented at his new club.
After starting his career in his native Argentina, Benfica was Di María’s first stop in Europe in 2007. Three years later he joined Real Madrid for €33m (2010-2014).
After that, Di María played for Manchester United (2014-2015), for Paris Saint-Germain (2015-2022) and last season in Turin.
