Hockey men end pro league in defeat

The German hockey men suffered another defeat at the end of the Pro League. The world champion lost to Spain 3:4 (2:1) in Antwerp and is sixth in the final table. Neither team had any chances for first place before the game.

In a turbulent game, Paul Glander (1st), Florian Sperling (30th) and Jakob Brilla (45th) put the German Hockey Association (DHB) in the lead, but Spain kept hitting back. Shortly before the end, the two-time European champions celebrated the 4:3 from a Spanish perspective (57th).

The German team ended the Pro League with three defeats in a row, only last Sunday the team of national coach Andre Henning had already lost against Spain (1:3). The duels in the league served Germany as preparation for the upcoming European Championships at home in Mönchengladbach (19th to 27th August).
