The insolvent shoe retailer PS shoes, which belongs to the Osnabrück-based company Lemax Shoe-Fashion, will close most of its shops because they cannot be operated profitably. This is reported by the trade journal Textilwirtschaft, citing the responsible insolvency administrator Ria Brüninghoff from the law firm Pluta.
Accordingly, two shops have already been closed, in Bad Salzuflen and Bad Münder. Another six are to follow by September. In total, the branch network before filing for bankruptcy comprised twelve branches including an outlet in Osnabrück.
The remaining four branches as well as the online shop PS-schuhe.de will be handed over to the shoe wholesaler JH Pölking – a sister company of Lemax, which is currently being reorganized under self-administration.
The four branches are the Osnabrück Outlet and the shops in Bad Rothenfelde near Halle/Westphalia, Ihlow near Aurich and Riesenbeck near Ibbenbüren. They are to be taken over by the Lemax sister JH Pölking this month. Pölking, which was founded in 1894 and is managed by the fourth generation, opened insolvency proceedings under self-administration on June 1st.
The takeover has secured the jobs of 25 of the approximately 60 employees.
A sale of the two companies is not off the table yet.
