In the women’s singles, 19-year-old Russian athlete Andreeva, the number 8 seed, became the champion by beating Chwalinska, ranked 114th in the world, 2-0 with sets of 6-3, 6-2.
While both tennis players reached the grand slam final for the first time in their careers, Andreeva won her first grand slam championship.
