Lotte Kopecky crossed the line first in Izegem

Lotte Kopecky is champion of Belgium for the third time, after a very closed competition in Flanders’ most beautiful. Justine Ghekiere and Margot Vanpachtenbeke showed themselves and did everything they could to release Kopecky, but to no avail.

The peloton stayed somewhat together towards the last lap where attack after attack came about to make Kopecky’s life miserable. Just before the sprint, Kopecky was forced on the head. That was no problem at all, she controlled the sprint and rode to her third Belgian title.

Marthe Goossens and Kelly Druyts complete the podium, Justine Ghekiere finished fifth for her own people.
