Lisbon Stadium turf to be replaced after concert

Rammstein will play in Portugal for the first time in almost ten years on Monday (June 26). More precisely, in the Estádio da Luz (English: Stadium of Light) in Lisbon. According to Portuguese media reports, the operator of the stadium, the football club Benfica Lisbon, is planning to renew the lawn after the concert.

It was last replaced four years ago. The match between the national team of Portugal and Bosnia on June 17th – Portugal won 3-0 – was the last football game played on the pitch. The new “green carpet” will consist of “natural grass with a mixture of synthetic fibers”.

Spain and Portugal are looking forward to Rammstein

Meanwhile, the city of Madrid is preparing for the Rammstein concert. The band around singer Till Lindemann, who has hit the headlines, will perform there on Friday (June 23). The show, which will take place in the Cívitas Metropolitano Stadium, has been sold out for some time – the current allegations against Lindemann will probably not change that. Because many Spanish fans are looking forward to Rammstein’s return.

The band last played a gig there in 2019. There is currently no talk of protest actions, such as those currently planned in Berlin. Ticket holders do not have to fear a concert cancellation either.
