Ike Turner Jr., son of the late Tina Turner and her ex-husband Ike Turner, was caught in the US with drugs in the car and then taken into custody. Ike has yet to post bail ($70,000).
Ike was accused of possession of crack and evidence tampering on May 6, just weeks before his mother Tina died, People magazine reported. According to prison records, Ike was sent to the Brazoria County Jail in Texas.

The Texas Police Department told People magazine on Wednesday (June 21) that the patrol stopped 64-year-old Ike Jr. at a traffic light in the United States on May 6 because a headlight was defective. The officers noticed that Ike Jr. was trying to consume the narcotics in his possession: “He wanted to eat the drugs before the officers could take them away from him,” said one officer. 1.7 grams of crack and 0.7 grams of methamphetamine were seized.
The passenger, Jessica Salinas-Esquivel, is also believed to have been charged with possession of a substance, methamphetamine, according to the report obtained by People.

Ike Turner adopted Ike Jr. and Michael Turner before marrying Tina, who then adopted their two sons after their 1962 marriage.
Ike abused Tina for years and suffered from cocaine addiction. From 1989 he served 18 months in prison for cocaine possession; In 2007 he died of an overdose. According to a 2018 interview with the Daily Mail, Ike Jr. said that his father “hit him in the head with a nickel-plated .45” for briefly working as Tina’s sound engineer when the couple divorced in 1978 . The son added that he hadn’t spoken to his mother in more than 10 years.
Tina Turner died on May 24 at the age of 83 in Zurich. She died after a long illness.
