No more vehicle through traffic in the Sprengelkiez. This is a nuisance to local people. A comment from BZ editor Katja Colmenares.

In the middle of the city, children play in the street. Most apartment windows are wide open because neither engine noise nor exhaust fumes disturb. And what’s more, you can suddenly hear a wide variety of bird songs all over the district.

I suppose most of us would like to live like that. The only question is: under what conditions? Problem: The residents in the Sprengelkiez were not asked in advance whether they wanted their neighborhood to become a neighborhood block.

Now the shopkeeper can still drive in front of his shop, but he is no longer allowed to stop to unpack the goods. Because there are no loading zones in the new cycle lane. For this he gets tickets, one after the other.

A bizarrely outdated notion of politics.
