THEbroadcast at 21.20 on Rai 2, Everyone lies is a thriller miniseries with a very murky atmosphere. Fascinating story set in a small seaside town in Spain with in the center a mysterious death.
Everyone lies: plot and previews
Macarena (Irene Arcos) is a good teacher torn between home, family and work. One day, in the middle of a lesson, note that his students are distracted from some notifications that arrive on the mobile phone. When questioned, they reveal that someone has uploaded it to the web a video of her having sex with young student Ivan (Lucas Nabor), son of her best friend.
From that moment, Macarena’s life becomes hell, given that the news is spreading like wildfire and everyone is wondering how long this clandestine and “scandalous” relationship has been going on. Above all the woman’s husband, Néstor (Leonardo Sbaraglia), a loving psychiatrist with whom he had his daughter Natalia. His brother Sergio, a lawyer, arrives to help, while Ivan’s parents try to cover up the scandal as they fear repercussions on the thriving family business.

In order not to miss anything from the drama, a few days later Ivan’s body was found on the beach – a death that upsets even more the life of the small community of Belmonte. Where everyone, as the title says by the way, has many secrets to hide and a castle of lies to defend.
A thriller that tells the story of today’s society
Set in a beautiful and opulent coastal town, Everyone lies It’s a really enjoyable series that plays with time jumps and starts with an unexpected death. A very clever script move that immediately glues the viewer to the screen and, over the course of the three episodes, the names suspected of this murder flock as surprising events occur and their seemingly perfect lives are actually hiding some secrets unspeakable.

Great merit of the script is also to don’t stop and capture only the sordid side of the story and the criticism of a world where everyone appears, especially on social media, for what they are not is very clear. Among other topics addressed also the generational clash between parents and adolescent children and reflection on a society still too chained to old stereotypes who frown on relationships between young boys and older women.
But it is also not missing a healthy pinch of black humour which, between one mystery and another, offers a few playful moments in one dense plot of thriller twists.
A second season in the works
Filming began in Barcelona in March of a new season of the series still set in Belmonte with the same characters.
From the little news circulating on the plot, it seems that the new episodes will be even more suspenseful and corrosive humor, as he stated the creator of the Pau Freixas series. “At the end of the first season of Everyone liesI understand that there could be room for me to continue to enjoy those characters. The protagonist once again will be Irene ArcosGalician actress well known in Spain and also famous by us for being the lead name of the miniseries, which aired on Rai 2, The Red Pier. Where she played the seductive and passionate Veronicaa woman who entertains an affair with another woman’s husband who, a bit like in Everyone liesis mysteriously killed. Former photography assistant on the sets, Irene discovered the sacred fire of acting relatively late but, in a few years, she managed to become one of the most sought-after television actressesand of Spain.
