DBB ace Hollatz moves to Slovenia

Basketball national player Justus Hollatz, who is also traded with FC Bayern Munich, is moving to Slovenia. The 22-year-old playmaker is drawn to Ljubljana’s Cedevita Olimpija, the club confirmed on Wednesday.

The specialist portals Eurohoops and Big had previously reported. Former Hamburg pro Hollatz was part of the bronze team at last year’s European Championship at home and played for Spanish club CB Breogan the following season. For the World Cup in Asia (August 25 to September 10), Hollatz is a contender for a squad place with national coach Gordon Herbert.

“I’m grateful that I have the opportunity to play for a team with such a great history. I’m really happy,” said Hollatz according to the announcement. Coach Simone Pianigiani said: “He is a modern player because first and foremost he is a great point guard and can therefore play in several positions.”
