Guus sees Flemming as the dream Groots successor: Party with a capital F

Next year Guus Meeuwis will put an end to his Groots concerts after 17 editions. But if it is up to the singer, the concerts will then continue with another artist. According to Guus Meeuwis, Flemming would be an ideal successor. “It’s definitely something to dream about,” said Flemming.

Flemming has already come up with a name for the successor to Groots: “Party with a capital F, that sounds like something to me.”

Gus is a fan
Guus Meeuwis will see Flemming in the Philips Stadium in two years’ time: “He is well on his way to a first stadium concert. I am a huge fan of his. If he feels he is ready, then he is ready.”

27-year-old Flemming from Den Bosch sees it as a huge compliment, he says in a response to Omroep Brabant. “It is a huge honor that Guus sees me as the successor to his stadium concerts, although it is difficult to match something like that.”

Flemming has previously indicated in an interview that Guus Meeuwis, among others, is his great example: “It is my goal to have just as long a career as Guus, with equally beautiful concerts. I hope that in twenty years I will also be able to perform in front of full houses.” Ultimately, Flemming hopes to become the Dutch Ed Sheeran.

To call
Part of that dream will come true this weekend, when the Den Bosch singer will be the support act for Groots with a Soft G. The singer can then see backstage how such a stadium show works. “Then he has to pay attention and if he really plans to do it afterwards, he should call me,” says Guus Meeuwis. “He can ask me anything.”

Flemming doesn’t say yes right away: “Let’s first do the support act three times next weekend. Then we’ll see after that.”
