This work is underway at the McDonald’s car park on Kelvinstraat

The McDonald’s parking lot on Kelvinstraat looks like one big construction site full of bulldozers and mounds of sand. Is the restaurant closed or can we just go for our Big Mac and French fries? And is the McDrive actually open? indebuurt goes to investigate.

The area around McDonald’s is being overhauled: new offices will be built and the car park will be redesigned with more parking spaces.

Same entrance and exit

Normally you enter the car park via Kelvinstraat to park. The McDrive had its own entrance. But after the renovation work, both the entrance and the exit will be in the same place. This means that you can enter the car park as well as the McDrive via one road. And also leave the site via the same route. Click for an impression photo here.

McDrive

It takes some searching during the work, but the McDrive is open as usual. Enter the site via the entrance on Kelvinstraat and you will see a temporary gate with red signal signs. Follow the creep-through-sneak-through route and you will automatically arrive at two order kiosks. There you pass on your order and then drive to the back and pick up your order.
