Eintracht Frankfurt’s sports director Markus Krösche, who is apparently courted by FC Bayern, has described requests for a change as “irrelevant”. “You can’t prevent certain things, including speculation. But I said weeks ago that Eintracht is my focus and that I really enjoy working here,” said Krösche in an interview with “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung“. “We’ve had two exciting years here and I’m looking forward to everything that’s to come.”
When asked whether there had been any concrete contract offers, the 42-year-old added: “There are always loose inquiries. But that’s irrelevant.” Krösche moved from RB Leipzig to Hessen in the summer of 2021 – this Saturday the two clubs will meet in the DFB Cup final in Berlin. Leipzig’s sports director Max Eberl is said to be on the Bayern list.
FC Bayern made the separation from the previous CEO Oliver Kahn and sports director Hasan Salihamidzic public on Saturday immediately after winning the eleventh championship title in a row. Jan-Christian Dreesen takes over for Kahn, Salihamidzic’s position is vacant. As honorary president Uli Hoeneß explained, the record champions wanted to take their time when looking for a new sports director. The new manager should be found by Christmas at the latest, they say. In the summer transfer period, the Hoeneß quartet, Chairman of the Supervisory Board Herbert Hainer, Dreesen and ex-boss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, who moved up to the Supervisory Board, will take over squad planning – in close coordination with coach Thomas Tuchel.
