To combat the persistently high inflation, the British government has started negotiations with supermarkets to limit prices on a number of basic products. That writes The Sunday Times on Sunday. The newspaper talks about a “French-style approach”, but several government members are quick to say that it is a voluntary measure, not an obligation.
