Dog Paco finally home after four days: “It’s a miracle!”

It were grueling days for Eva and Rick from Purmerend, but their missing dog has been found. After four long days, Paco is back with his owners. It is not yet clear where he has been all over the past few days. “But he’s back, and that’s the most important thing.”

Paco is a young seven-month-old street dog that the couple took with them to the Netherlands after a tour in Spain. They had just been home in Purmerend for a week when the dog broke loose four days ago. Thanks to the attention of a boy, the former street dog is now home again.

“It all went very quickly,” Eva tells NH. A boy in the back of a car saw a dog sitting under an overpass near the highway. Paco recognized two girls in the car from the flyers that Eva and Rick put up everywhere.

“When the two girls called Paco, he immediately ran into the car,” says Eva. And within half an hour Paco was reunited with his owners. “It’s really a miracle!”

Catch up on sleep

Paco is going to the vet tomorrow, but he seems unharmed, except for a tick. “It is now especially important that he can rest and catch up on sleep,” says Eva. And his owners can also use some extra sleep after 4 restless days

“We had a lot of scenarios in our heads about how this could end,” says Eva. “But then this is the very best.”
