The van that was found burning yesterday in a forest on the Tweede Groenedijk near Emmer-Compascuum was stolen earlier that day in Emmen.
According to the police, the theft was reported yesterday from Jules Vernesweg in Emmen. At the end of the afternoon, the bus was found burning a few kilometers away in the woods between Barger-Oosterveld and Emmer-Compascuum.
The police therefore assume arson in the car fire. Forensic investigators are continuing to investigate the fire and theft.
