Philipp Max will play for Eintracht Frankfurt beyond the summer. As the SBU confirmed on Friday, the club took the option to buy the 29-year-old left-back. Max, who was loaned out from PSV Eindhoven in the winter, is now contractually bound to Hessen until 2026. The three-time German international has made 13 appearances for Frankfurt, most recently missing due to a hamstring injury.
Reports emerged in March that the firm commitment was already fixed and a clause was activated after the sixth engagement. Max is said to cost SGE around 1.9 million euros – his working paper with the Dutch originally ran until 2024. The left foot celebrated his return to the Bundesliga after two and a half years in January, when he had FC Augsburg for a fee from EUR 7.7 million left for Eindhoven.

Eintracht Frankfurt has exercised the purchase option, which means that the left-back will continue to play with the eagle on his chest in the future. The contract runs until June 30, 2026.#SGE
