Bayern Munich captain Manuel Neuer continues to make progress on his way to a comeback from a serious leg injury.
The national goalkeeper has been doing “individual, goalkeeper-specific exercises on the training ground since this week,” the club announced on Thursday.
“I’m satisfied. We don’t set ourselves a schedule. I try to do everything I can to get the maximum out of it so that I can progress and progress as quickly as possible,” said Neuer on Thursday after a session with goalkeeper coach Michaelrechner.
Neuer broke his lower leg in December on a ski tour after the failed World Cup in Qatar. The DFB captain will not play again this season. His comeback in team training is expected at the start of preparations for the coming season.
The new Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel is also said to be planning with Neuer as number one. It is still unclear what the future of Yann Sommer, who came from Gladbach in winter as a substitute, will look like.
