Hertha BSC confirms staff tremors

Three days before the Hertha BSC general meeting, Ingmar Pering, a member of the executive committee for many years, resigned from his post. The Berlin Bundesliga club confirmed the corresponding media reports.

President Kay Bernstein is disappointed by this step, especially in the current situation, but does not want to fail to thank Ingmar Pering for his many years of commitment to Hertha BSC, according to a statement.

“Yes, I resigned after too many mistakes and breakdowns have occurred at Hertha BSC lately and I have the feeling that my advice and suggestions are no longer being heard enough. I have now drawn my conclusions from that,” said the 57-year-old from the “Bild” newspaper.

As the “Kicker” reports, Pering, who has been active at Hertha for more than 20 years and has been a member of the presidency since 2007, is said to have resigned with serious allegations against club boss Kay Bernstein and specifically for the establishment of the cooperation with the new investor 777 Partners have established.

The association’s statutes stipulate a by-election

Last year, Pering wanted to apply for the presidency himself, but decided not to do so in order to cooperate with candidate Frank Steffel, who surprisingly lost to Bernstein in the election.

According to the Hertha statutes, a new member of the executive committee must now be elected, since the committee must consist of at least seven members. For formal reasons, however, this is not yet possible at the upcoming general meeting on Sunday. There, however, the options for a by-election in an extraordinary or the next ordinary general meeting should be discussed together with the members as a separate item on the agenda.
