Formula 1 | Russell: No need to speak to Verstappen

After the Zoff from Baku, Mercedes driver George Russell sees no further need for clarification with Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen.

“For me, that’s history, that’s behind us,” said the British Mercedes driver at the press conference for the Miami Grand Prix. Russell pushed past Verstappen in the Red Bull with a vengeance in the sprint race in Baku last Saturday. Verstappen’s car was damaged.

At the finish, Verstappen audibly called Russell a “complete idiot” in front of the TV cameras. The two-time world champion from the Netherlands did not accept an explanation for the hard action. He was third, Russell fourth.

He hasn’t spoken to Verstappen again about the incident since then, the Brit emphasized: “I don’t have to clarify anything.” There are also things that were said in the heat of battle. Verstappen is a great driver, the 25-year-old Russell praised his rival of the same age.
