Next Friday, May 5, is Liberation Day. Once every five years this is an official day off.
Research commissioned by the National Committee for 4 and 5 May shows that Liberation Day is important to more than three-quarters of the Dutch population. Also a large majority of 70 percent want it to be an annual day off instead of every lustrum year now – 2020, 2025, and so on.
