Simon Terodde will leave FC Schalke 04 at the end of the season. Where the striker is headed is still unclear. Five clubs are apparently in question.
“In recent weeks there has been a lot of speculation in the media about my future. It’s a topic that neither the club nor I need in these trend-setting weeks. That’s why I would like to declare now that my time at Schalke will definitely end in the summer.” , explained Terodde in a club announcement.
He wanted to “say goodbye to the successful relegation” in Gelsenkirchen. How things will continue for the 35-year-old is still open. According to “Reviersport”, Terodde has five change options.
One is therefore Fortuna Dusseldorf. The second division are looking for a successor for goalscorer Dawid Kownacki, who will leave the club. According to the report, Fortuna has already contacted Terodde.
Second option is VfL Bochum. However, a return could only be hot if the Revierklub were relegated from the Bundesliga, according to the newspaper. Bochum is currently in 15th place in the table.
Terodde was under contract with VfL from 2014 to 2016. In 72 competitive games he scored 47 goals and prepared twelve more goals.
Is Terodde moving from FC Schalke 04 to the 3rd division?
A change Teroddes in the 3rd league is apparently possible. “Reviersport” names Rot-Weiss Essen and the designated climbers Preußen Münster as possible goals for the veteran.
Terodde’s name has already been mentioned by those responsible at RWE. A change is unlikely, however, since the attacker would have to make big cuts financially.
The same applies to Prussia Munster. Sports director Peter Niemeyer has made contact with Terodde’s environment, but they don’t have high hopes for the regional league leader.
There should also have been contact with 1. FC Bocholt, Terodde’s home club. However, this took place on a friendly basis. A return to his youth club, which plays in the Regionalliga West, would be too early, according to “Reviersport”.
