At the Final Four in the Handball European League, Füchse Berlin will face the top French club Montpellier HB in the semi-finals. That was the result of the draw on Thursday in Vienna.

“With Montpellier, we hit the nominally hardest lot. They are also in the race for the French championship,” said the Füchse trainer Jaron Siewert. “They have already proven that they have an extremely high quality,” added the coach of the second Bundesliga team to the duel with the two-time Champions League winner.

There could be a German duel in the final of the European League!

Frisch Auf Göppingen plays in the second semi-final against the Spanish representative Fraikin BM Granollers. The final tournament will take place on 27./28. May in Flensburg. The North Germans failed in the quarter-finals due to Granollers and thus missed the Final Four in their own hall.

The foxes had made up a four-goal deficit from the first game in the quarter-final second leg against Kadetten Schaffhausen on Tuesday evening and thus reached the final tournament. Outstanding: Mathias Gidsel.

Göppingen prevailed against the Croatian representative RK Nexe Nasice.
