Leipzig enters the only threesome
After the cabin trouble and a lot of Champions League frustration, FC Bayern Munich is now faltering on the way to its eleventh championship title in a row. After another disappointing performance on Saturday, the league leaders had to settle for a 1-1 (1-0) draw against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, who were threatened with relegation. After the final whistle, the fans loudly cheered Stuttgart’s late 3-3 win against Borussia Dortmund. Bayern maintained their two-point lead over BVB. With six games to go before the end of the season, the head-to-head race for the championship trophy continues.
The strong Benjamin Pavard (17th minute) gave Munich hope for a long time that CEO Oliver Kahn had to fulfill his duties in everyday life in the Bundesliga. But Andrej Kramaric hit back ice-coldly with a free-kick goal for Hoffenheim around the strong goalkeeper Oliver Baumann (71st). Bayern goalkeeper Yann Sommer could only steer the ball to the inside of the post with his hand. Another goal by Pavard, who scored twice against Augsburg a month ago, did not count because of an offside position.
Crazy 3: 3 at VfB Stuttgart: BVB leaves points in the title fight
Despite a long majority, Borussia Dortmund missed a big step in the title race. In a turbulent game with two goals in injury time at VfB Stuttgart, who were in danger of relegation, the second-placed team had to settle for a 3-3 (2-0) win against the Swabians despite leading twice and being sent off. VfB remained unbeaten in their third competitive game under their new coach Sebastian Hoeneß and is ranked 16th.

Offensive forces Sébastien Haller (26th minute) and Donyell Malen (33rd) scored in front of 47,900 spectators for BVB, who were very efficient in the first round. Tanguy Coulibaly (78′) and Josha Vagnoman (84′) brought the bravely fighting Stuttgarters, where defender Konstantinos Mavropanos saw the yellow-red card (39′), the equalizer. Substitute Giovanni Reyna (90+3) gave Dortmund the lead again, but Silas struck back for VfB in the seventh minute of added time.
1. FC Köln earned a deserved 1-1 draw against Mainz
1. FSV Mainz 05 can still hope for their fifth participation in the European Cup. The Rheinhessen, who have not been defeated for nine games, only drew 1-1 (0-1) at 1. FC Köln, but with 42 points they are still well in the race for participation in international business. Even after four home games without a win, the hosts should no longer be in danger of relegation with 32 points.
In front of 50,000 spectators in the sold-out Rheinenergie Stadium, winter newcomer Ludovic Ajorque (17th minute) scored the opening goal for the guests. Dejan Ljubicic scored to make it 1-1 for Cologne (51st), which ended the 325-minute goal drought in front of their home crowd.
Werner shoots RB Leipzig against FC Augsburg in third place in the table
Thanks to national player Timo Werner, RB Leipzig has at least jumped to third place in the table. The 27-year-old scored two goals and prepared one in the 3-2 (3-1) win over FC Augsburg in front of 46,058 spectators on Saturday. 1. FC Union Berlin can overtake the Saxons again on Sunday. Before Werner (32nd and 35th minute) Kevin Kampl (10th) scored for Leipzig. Arne Maier (5th) and substitute Rubén Vargas (82nd) were successful for Augsburg.
