Criminal proceedings opened against Kleyman

Criminal proceedings have been opened against the Israeli goalkeeper Boris Kleyman from the Greek first division soccer team Volos NFC.

As the authorities announced on Tuesday, Kleymann and his teammate Rodrigo Escoval were arrested in Athens for assault. The victim is said to be a Belgian student.

Escoval has since been released. Volos President Achilleas Beos suspended both professionals. Kleyman will appear before a judge on Thursday. If found guilty, he faces more than ten years in prison.
