The US sporting goods supplier Nike Inc. wants to support the development of women’s soccer in Mexico. On Monday, the group announced that it had entered into a three-year partnership with Liga BBVA MX Femenil.
As part of the agreement, Nike will become the “exclusive sports partner” of Mexico’s top women’s soccer league, which was founded in 2017. From the Torneo Apertura 2023 half-season, which will be played in the second half of the year, the brand is now equipping the players with product innovations and supplying the official match ball. The company also announced “investments in next-generation development programs.”
With the partnership, the company is underscoring its commitment to promoting women’s football, which it has already demonstrated in recent years by working with professional leagues in the USA and Europe, Nike said in a statement.
