Klaas Bosma from Emmer-Compascuum can come with preferential votes for the PVV in the Provincial Council of Drenthe.
Bosma is leader of the PVV in the city council of Emmen. “That’s my priority. I can’t stop there.” He does not yet know whether he will also enter provincial politics in addition to the municipal council. Bosma will discuss this with the group tomorrow morning.
He is the only one of the candidates who is allowed to take a seat in the Drenthe parliament by means of preferential votes. Other candidates who have received enough preferential votes have also ended up in the States on the basis of their position on the list. Bosma received 2084 votes, of which 1769 came from the municipality of Emmen. That last number is already enough to get into the Provincial Council. Bosma was seventh on the PVV voting list.
If Bosma decides to take his place in the provincial government, it will be at the expense of Bert Vorenkamp, the number two on the list. Vorenkamp is now in the Provincial Council.
The BBB received the most votes in every municipality, and Gert-Jan Schuinder, the party leader, received the most votes almost everywhere. There are two exceptions. In the municipality of Meppel, most people voted for Suzanne Maris-Brouwer. She was in seventh place for BBB and comes from Meppel. Lijanne Mestemaker from Wapse received the most votes in the municipality of Westerveld. She was fourth on the voting list.
