Minister Christianne van der Wal of Nature and Nitrogen does not change the policy on the wolf for the time being. She writes this in a response to a letter from the provinces of Drenthe, Friesland and Overijssel.
In that letter, the provinces ask the minister to adjust the policy so that there are more options to keep the wolf out of areas where the animal can cause damage to livestock.
The minister indicates that she understands the concerns about the wolf. But she first wants to talk to all parties, so that the parties gain a better understanding of each other’s points of view. According to the Frisian deputy, the three provinces are involved, he reports Omrop Friesland.
In addition, the minister is awaiting advice from the Council for Animal Affairs. Until then, nothing will change in the wolf’s approach, says Van der Wal.
