Premier League | Bar scandal: investigations against Walker dropped

England international footballer Kyle Walker is not facing any further police investigation after he allegedly exposed himself in a bar near Manchester in early March.

Cheshire Police announced on Friday that investigations into the Manchester City defender have been dropped.

“Officials have now completed their investigation and spoken to those directly involved,” said a spokesman. The matter was settled out of court and thus closed. City team manager Pep Guardiola spoke of a “private matter” that had been clarified internally.

A week ago, the newspaper The Sun published footage from a surveillance camera online showing Walker pulling down his trousers twice in a bar in Wilmslow, a good 20 kilometers south of Manchester. An investigation was then launched.

Walker is in the England squad for the forthcoming EURO qualifiers against Italy and Ukraine. He has played for City since 2017 and has won 73 caps for England so far.
