The news that HLF8 is leaving the tube was not very unexpected last night: it had been a dead horse for a long time and there were already rumors about the successor. So they still seem true.
Stopping the talk show HLF8 is actually the worst for Sam Hagens. The political reporter from Hart van Nederland really wanted to become a talk show host and he has now been able to make that happen on the eve of SBS 6. But if HLF8 ends in a month, his presentation career will also seem to be over.
Error or blunder?
In the spring, SBS 6 will give the programs Lang Leve De Liefde and Een Jaar Van Je Leven more room to fill the HLF8 gap, but the replacement for after the summer is already ready: Date Bon appetit. That program was already announced in January with September as the starting month and half past eight to half past eight as the broadcast time.
The conclusion then seemed that HLF8 would stop, but that was hastily denied by SBS 6. The channel claimed an ‘error’, but that was not believed by RTL Boulevard. There they assumed a blunder: “I don’t think it’s a mistake that you put that in wrong, but okay.”
“So it was true!”
Tina Nijkamp, the former channel boss of SBS 6, now thinks that Date Tasty will indeed be the successor to HLF8. “Conclusion: this message was correct. Date Bon appetit will come anyway. Recordings and / or casting will already be in full swing,” she writes on her analysis channel.
She is still unsure about the time. “Now that it has been announced that HLF8 will stop, I think the following: if the replacements Lang Leve De Liefde and Een Jaar Van Je Leven score ok from 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm, Date Bon appetit will come from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm. If it is disappointing, then from 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm.”
Very sad
According to Tina, it is a pity that HLF8 is going off the tube. “Very sorry for the HLF8 team that they have to stop and it’s a shame that they weren’t better helped with the line-up. Shame.”
She was still there yesterday. “I really think it’s a shame that TVBV (the production house founded by Jeroen Pauw, ed.) has let this program slip by. This could have been a REAL success with a clear line-up accurate to the minute.”
HLF8 captivated 366 thousand viewers (7.5 percent market share) yesterday. Lang Leve De Liefde before scored 10.4 percent, Het Roer Om afterwards 14.6 percent.
