According to a statement, Verdi members vote for an indefinite strike at Deutsche Post!
The union’s press release states: “In the ballot initiated after the collapse of collective bargaining for the approximately 160,000 employees of Deutsche Post AG, the Verdi members of the company decided to reject the offer submitted by the employers.”
85.9 percent of the respondents would have decided against the offer and for an indefinite strike. In plain language: The strike can still be averted! The Verdi spokesman confirmed this to BILD. A date for the start of the strike has not been set.
Negotiations continue on Friday (March 10, 2023).
According to its own statements, Verdi is demanding a wage increase of 15 percent for the employees at Deutsche Post with a term of the collective agreement of twelve months.
