Milan, Pioli: “We champions? Nothing is impossible”

The AC Milan coach has no limits: “We want to enter the top four in Europe. We need to change formation, we’re more solid”

The last time Milan played in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Stefano Pioli was coaching Di Vaio and Perez’s Bologna. Now football has led him to celebrate the passage to the quarter-finals against Conte’s Tottenham, the coach who 15 years ago – on 8 March 2008 – faced in Serie B: from Grosseto-Bari 2-2 to 0-0 London who is worth going through to the round: “As champions? I like to think that nothing is impossible. Our goal is to get into the top four in Europe, then obviously it’s difficult.” Stefano Pioli’s word to Prime Video: “Sheva told me she would be tough, but we did it”. Milan in the quarterfinals.

Dream

This is Pioli’s comment: “We did well, I asked for personality and I got it. We never gave up. The next round is deserved based on what we’ve seen in the two games. Can we dream? One step at a time, maybe. Now we’re waiting for the draw. We’ll fight for it.” Eyes on Serie A now: “In the league we are a bit late and the goal is to score as many points as possible. We really wanted to do well and we did it. I’m happy.”

Module

A few words on module change. In the last five matches, Milan have only lost against Fiorentina: “I took this decision after yet another defeat in the league, against Sassuolo at home. The old system was no longer working, but now the team is working well. We have three strong central defenders, but there are also Kjaer and Gabbia. It was the right time to change. The concepts we have are the same, obviously, but the change gave us more solidity.”

Champions

The team is growing. “We played with personality. We have to be this team here, period. Champions? Either we win it, or we have to reach the first four places. I think so. And now head to the championship, on Monday we will play against Salernitana and we have to make up ground. Let’s go forward with confidence”.
