mjust two months ago (May 7) to concert to be held in Windsor in honor of King Charlesbut organizers at Buckingham Palace failed to secure even one of the sovereign’s hand-picked artists. And after Elton John, Harry Styles, Adele, Robbie Williams and Ed Sheeran, now even Kylie Minogue has said no.

King Charles jokes, Kate Middleton enchants: the first state banquet is a success

Nobody wants to sing for King Charles III

The announcement of the event had talked about the most popular pop stars of the moment, in a lineup which set out to equal if not surpass the one he celebrated at Buckingham Palace last June Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee. But why are the stars now refusing to commit to Carlo? Not even the Spice Girls, who know the sovereign well (Geri Halliwell dared to kiss him in public in 1997) want to be there.

The “apologies” of the stars to King Charles

The pop stars who have already refused have all made justifiable excuses, whether due to pre-existing tours or firm commitments to recording studios. According to experts, however, the motivation is another: the desire to avoid at all costs being associated with a historic event characterized by so much pomp and organized at the expense of taxpayers at a time of severe economic crisis.

Kylie Minogue doesn’t sing out of respect for Republicans

The famous 54-year-old Australian singer didn’t feel like performing for King Charles – who is also a big fan of hers – and admitted that she made the difficult decision out of respect for her compatriots who, in ever growing numbers, they ask a definitive detachment of Australia from the Commonwealth and, therefore, from the British monarchy.

Chaos reigns in the offices of Buckingham Palace

However, the British media have begun to wonder: why is an event like this, the schedule of which should have been finalized months ago, still on the high seas? In reality, they say at court, planning for the entire Coronation is experiencing significant delays and, amid uncertainties and indecisions about how to make the celebrations as low-cost as possible, invitations to the most illustrious guests have only been sent out in recent days.

Will King Charles’s coronation be a flop?

According to some British royal watchers, the changes wanted by Carlo in order not to flaunt useless magnificence in times of economic crisis risk having a negative impact on the event and, consequently, the Coronation risks going down in history as the most chaotic and least significant of the annals of the monarchy.

However, the organizers of the concert have a plan B and have decided to target medium-sized stars. Maybe there will be Olly Murs and what remains of Take That. But so far no one has felt like putting a signature on it.
