In Neu-Hohenschönhausen, cellar shacks burned on Sunday night, and cars in Neukölln and Tempelhof went up in flames.

Cellar shacks burned again in Neu-Hohenschönhausen: At around 12:45 a.m., the basement of a high-rise building in the Neu-Hohenschönhausen district at Prerower Platz was on fire. Just a few days ago there was a fire in several cellars on the adjacent Zingster Straße. According to initial findings, no one was injured. However, the basement and the building had to be extensively ventilated to push out toxic fumes.

According to initial findings, arson is assumed. Just before New Year’s Eve, several people were arrested in the area in a large-scale police operation for arson, apparently not all the perpetrators could be caught.

Car fire in Bergholzstraße in Tempelhof: In the morning at around 4:20 a.m., a car caught fire in Bergholzstrasse in Berlin-Tempelhof. The fire brigade extinguished the burning vehicle, but could no longer prevent it from burning out.

The firefighters were apparently alerted in the quiet industrial area by a triggered fire alarm system. It’s not the first vehicle to have caught fire on the street. Arson is currently suspected.
