FC Augsburg: Ermedin Demirovic has the “goal” to become at home

6th professional station

The swap deal by Ermedin Demirovic and Michael Gregoritsch between SC Freiburg and FC Augsburg came as a surprise last summer. While Gregoritsch went to Breisgau, Demirovic moved to Fuggerstadt – the transfer paid off for both of them. Gregoritsch has already scored twelve times in all competitions and prepared four more goals, with Demirovic there are seven goals and four assists. The Augsburg attacker gave the reason for his step in an interview with the portal “dyke room“ The irregular season at the sports club.

“I wasn’t satisfied with my role in Freiburg, I didn’t play much. But I’m still quite young and I think I need match practice. So I planned to make a change. We have agreed that I will go to Augsburg. After that, things developed in such a way that Freiburg expressed their interest in Michael Gregoritsch, and it was a perfect swap,” said Demirovic.

For the Bosnian, who signed until 2026, Augsburg is the sixth professional post at the age of 24. If it is up to the attacker, who is the fourth most valuable professional in Enrico Maassen’s squad, he wants to feel at home with FCA. “It is my goal. I feel very comfortable here, my girlfriend now lives with me, which has never been the case before. She found a job here. We have been very well received, in the city and at the club. Augsburg is our home,” stressed Demirovic.

Demirovic on youth at HSV: “Not sorted out, I went myself”

In his youth, the native of Hamburg’s path also led to HSV, which he left in the U16 towards RB Leipzig. “I wasn’t singled out, I went myself. I wanted to go a different route because at the time I had the feeling that in Hamburg they didn’t rely on me 100 percent. So I switched to Leipzig, an important and right step in my career. Otherwise I might never have turned pro.”

Despite the apparently unpleasant separation from the “Red Pants”, Demirovic wishes the former Bundesliga Dino promotion. “I hope so, fingers crossed like every year. Because I absolutely want to play in the Bundesliga with Augsburg against HSV. I think this time it’s enough.”
