Football awards: “The Best” and “Ballon d’Or” coexist

There are two different prestigious awards in world football. In addition to the “The Best” prize, the French football magazine “France Football” the “Ballon d’Or“. This award was given to Karim Benzema for men and Alexia Putellas for women.

FIFPRO selects the “World 11” of the year for men and women

The world eleven of the year will also be announced at the gala on February 27th. This election is carried out by FIFPRO, the union for players. These teams are put together by players from around the world in a vote.

There was consternation at that election last year when Alexia Putellas was absent from the women’s World XI – despite having previously won the Ballon d’Or and respective awards at FIFA and UEFA.
