The number of corona patients in the intensive care units of Dutch hospitals fell by 20 to 206 on Wednesday. That is the lowest number since October 28, according to the most recent figures from the National Coordination Center for Patients Spreading (LCPS).
A total of 1,531 people with corona are now in hospitals, 49 fewer than Tuesday. There are currently 1,325 Covid patients in the nursing wards. That is 29 fewer than the previous day.
In the past 24 hours, 181 new corona patients were brought in to the nursing wards, 18 new admissions to the ICs. That is 30 less than Tuesday.
Many of the hospitalized patients who tested positive for the coronavirus were admitted primarily for a different cause. The LCPS makes no distinction in the daily hospital figures between patients admitted with or because of corona.
