Russia’s anti-doping agency Rusada reports that the country’s athletes violated doping rules 375 times last year. News agency Tass reported on the matter.

It’s not about the actual problems, it’s about skipping the test.

If you miss three tests, you will be banned from competition. There are currently four Russian athletes in such a situation.

According to the rules of the World Anti-Doping Council WADA, the athletes who are part of the testing pool must report their whereabouts to the Adams tracking system.

The bubble burst

A study published by Wada in 2015 revealed a systematic doping problem in Russian sports, the focus of which was the manipulation of test results at Rusada.

As punishment for fraud and corruption, Rusada lost its operating rights for three years, but regained them in 2018 after agreeing to hand over all its data to Wada.

As a result of the doping scandal, the Russian athletes lost their right to compete in prestigious competitions under their own national symbols.

Currently, Russian athletes are banned from international competitions due to the war of aggression that started in Ukraine less than a year ago. However, the International Olympic Committee IOC hinted on Wednesday that the return of the Russians “under a neutral flag” could be possible under certain conditions.
