After three victories, the successful series of the Adler Mannheim in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) came to an end with a heavy disappointment.
The second in the table surprisingly lost 0:3 (0:1, 0:1, 0:1) to the Schwenninger Wild Wings at home and missed the opportunity to further reduce the gap to leaders Red Bull Munich.
“A 3-0 away win in Mannheim – it couldn’t be better,” said Schwenningen defender Johannes Huss at MagentaSport. The disappointed Adler striker David Wolf said after the derby defeat: “We just weren’t ready enough.”
Former Mannheimer Florian Elias (6th), Tyson Spink (39th) and Alexander Karachun (49th) scored for the visitors, who moved up two places to ninth in the race for a playoff spot. Mannheim is eleven points behind Munich.
