The Adler Mannheim just missed out on second place in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).

The Adler conceded a goal six seconds before the end of the game, a subsequent 3:2 (1:1, 1:0, 0:1, 0:0, 1:0) victory in the penalty shootout against the Löwen Frankfurt was not enough to go into the table to overtake the ERC Ingolstadt. Mannheim is still tied with the ERC in third place.

The Ingolstadt team turned the game against the Bietigheim Steelers late and ultimately also won in the shootout with 4:3 (1:2, 1:1, 1:0, 0:0, 1:0). The Steelers remain massively threatened with relegation, in the last eight games the tail light celebrated only one win.

The struggling champions Eisbären Berlin also scored an important victory in the table cellar. The Eisbären ended their renewed negative series of four bankruptcies in a row and beat the Kölner Haie 3:2 (1:1, 2:0, 0:1).

This allowed the Berliners to extend their lead over the relegation zone to seven points. The Augsburg Panthers, second to last in the table, was in the lead against the Iserlohn Roosters for a long time, but ultimately only won 2:1 (1:0, 0:0, 0:1, 1:0) in extra time and thus gave away another point .
