“But does not fit on Net5”

Jan Versteegh’s TV career happily continues to simmer. As the face of Lingo, which moved to Net5, he does not score high, but he does score solid ratings. “It just really doesn’t fit on that channel.”

Jan Versteegh is not a presenter with sky-high ambitions. He thinks it’s fine to run episodes of the somewhat stale language quiz Lingo. Due to changes in the programming, that program cannot be seen on SBS 6 this season, but on Net5. And there he does not score high, but solid viewing figures.

‘Does not fit Net5’

Slowly Jan turns out to be a permanent value of Net5. “The channel’s best-scoring program is Lingo every day anyway. And so also yesterday”, explains former SBS bobo Tina Nijkamp. “The best score is also in the commercial target group 20 to 54 years old with a 6.7 percent market share.”

How does Tina rate that score? “No resounding figures, but well, the rest don’t even reach 5 percent. Pathetic. Lingo is therefore still programmed in January together with 50/50 in the evening. Don’t know if it’s reruns though. The big problem is, of course, that the quiz is not at all in line with what Net5 was and is in terms of brand.”

No World Cup Football

Although the Football World Cup in controversial Qatar is still in full swing, there was no football yesterday. As a result, NPO 1 was suddenly no longer the most watched TV channel on prime time. That was RTL 4 with 1.1 million viewers (22 percent) for Het Perfecte Plaatje.

The numbers two and three were SBS 6’s De Oranjewinter with 984 thousand viewers (23 percent) and NPO 1’s Geef Om Je Hersenen with 961 thousand viewers (20 percent).

Oranjewinter continues to score

Tina notices that De Oranjewinter continues to score so well on non-match days. “Football or no football: De Oranjewinter continues to score. At number eight in the top 25 and the most watched talk show of the day.”

The other talk shows follow at a distance: Op1 scored 779 thousand viewers, Beau had 640 thousand and HLF8 only 334 thousand.
