The federal and state governments finally agree on the Germany ticket.
“The Germany ticket will come now,” said Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) at a press conference after the federal-state meeting on Thursday.
This cleared the last hurdles for the introduction of a nationwide public transport ticket in the coming year.
The federal and state governments want to split the costs for half each, said Lower Saxony’s Prime Minister Stephan Weil (SPD).
► It is already clear: The starting point for the 49-euro ticket is coming – as is often the case with buses and trains: late! The nationwide valid ticket was originally supposed to start on January 1st. Now the Germany ticket should be valid from April 1st.
