Aragonès asks the Government for “explanations” for the train crash in Montcada

The President of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, has claimed “all explanations” to the Government, Renfe and Adif due to the collision this Wednesday of two trains at the Montcada i Reixac station (Barcelona), which has caused at least 155 wounded, 150 of them mild and five less serious.

The accident, which has forced the interruption of circulation of the trains of the Rodalies lines R-4, R-7 and R-12 for more than an hour and a half, it occurred due to overtaking around 07:50, when a train traveling in the direction of Barcelona rear-ended another train that was also heading towards the Catalan capital and was at Montcada station.

“All the explanations from Renfe, Adif and the Spanish Government are necessary. Improve the service in Catalonia It is urgent and cannot be postponed”, Aragonès has asserted in a message on his Twitter account. The president has explained that he is in contact with Civil Protection to know the evolution of the wounded, to those who wished for a speedy recovery.

The incident has forced the interruption of the movement of trains on the lines R-4, R-7 and R-12 between the stations of Montcada Fork and Terrassa for over an hour and a half.
